The Imperial Candidate, Part I

The best description of the current state of the Democrat primary contests comes this morning from Margaret Carlson, here writing for Bloomberg:

Who knew that a member of one protected species would be running against a member of another within the party?
That is the quandary: Those who spend their lives in a protected environment have difficulty acclimating when returned to the wild.

The two remaining Democrat candidates have built their campaigns based on demographics, not principles. In a party with two candidates, each of whom can make a claim for the loyalty of a population segment based on color or gender, how does one win without vanquishing the other species, as Carlson put it?

Think the Republicans have it bad with conservative disinterest with McCain? They'll find common ground. Not so for those in the other party who vote black and lose to those who vote female and win, or the reverse. At its core, the party is on the verge of a race/gender war. It will be fascinating to watch, as long as it doesn't spill over into the real world.

Maggie Williams has returned to the campaign. In the interest of party unity and retaining a chance at electing the first female president, Hillary should withdraw and pledge her support to Maggie!

Run Condi for VP with McCain and that will get them in such a insanely frantic Moonbatic twist they'll roll-over and expose their dark, ugly underbelly.
