Schumer Pledges to Strangle Future Nominations; Claims Two Justices Deceived Senate

Senator Charles Schumer, a ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, promised today to prevent the confirmation of any nominees to the Supreme Court in the next 18 months.

Schumer accused two current Justices of deception during their confirmation hearings, saying (the other) Senators were

"too easily impressed with the charm of Roberts and the erudition of Alito."
He added
"There is no doubt that we were hoodwinked."
Senator Schumer was gracious in his use of the inclusive "we," as Senator Schumer voted against confirmation of both Roberts and Alito and is far too intelligent to have ever personally been "hoodwinked."

He obviously doesn't believe the same of his colleagues.
