Eldest Children Are Smarter, More Dutiful, More Cautious
According to this story in The New York Times, a study of 241,310 children shows that first-borns tend to be more dutiful and cautious than their brothers and sisters, with (insignificantly, sigh) higher IQs.
Not to mention that the eldest are thinner and better looking, too!
I've been trying to convince the others for seemingly forever but they tell me it's just not the same for American children given the study took place in Norway.
Past that, since it was in The Times, it's not dispositive.

I think this is a very true statement. In most cases I know this is true.I am the eldest.
So far all the eldests are confirming the findings. Others do not see it the same way...
Good point, though sometimes it's hard to arrive to definite conclusions
