Pelosi Delays Veto of Iraq Bill
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has delayed sending the emergency supplemental funding bill for our troops in Iraq to President Bush. Although the bill, requested by the President three months ago, was finally approved by both houses of Congress last Thursday, it has yet to reach the Oval Office.
Pelosi's office blames the delay on her decision to read the bill before signing it.
Let's see. She helped write it. She helped whip the vote for it in the House. She voted for it. Then she named the House conferees to negotiate differences with the Senate. Then she whipped the vote again and again she voted for it.
And now she's going to read it?
That's a peculiar way to do things, backwards, but perhaps it explains her other efforts to make a retreat a victory.
H/T to NRO.
Update: Captain Ed thinks there may be politics at play.
