RNC to Senate: "We don't take blood money!"

The Democrats running the Senate have included in the emergency supplemental bill for our forces fighting in Iraq, a $100 million subsidy for the 2008 Republican and Democratic conventions.

I urge Sen. Mel Martinez, Republican Party General Chairman, and Mike Duncan and Jo Ann Davidson, Co-Chairmen of the Republican National Committee, to immediately and forcefully respond to the Senate Democrats by refusing to accept the money and asking that the RNC's $50 million be immediately stricken from the bill.

They should make clear that Republican values do not allow political funding on the backs of those brave forces fighting and dying for us. They should ask all Republican Senators to vote against the bill. They could add their shock at being included and amplify their refusal to participate in the Democrats' political game.

“Congress will have to make the choice between booze and balloons or bullets and body armor,” John Hart, a spokesman for Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., told The Examiner on Monday.
Is there no shame at all amongst the Democratic leadership?

Apparently not.
