I, Robot: The Teleprompter Presidency

While former President Barack Obama continued his goodwill pub crawl through Europe, his replacement at the head of government signed the renewal of the Patriot Act which was presented for Presidential approval. The Teleprompter President, Mr. Obama's replacement, known to friends as TOTUS, for the first time used its robotic arm to sign legislation.

Former President Obama had earlier described the Patriot Act as a shoddy and dangerous law and suggested that it should be replaced. While he was President, Mr. Obama made no effort to replace or modify the law he disparaged.

In its comments at the late night signing ceremony, TOTUS made clear its support of the substantial increase in robotic employment that will result from widespread use of the law to eavesdrop, surveil and otherwise monitor human activities.
