Obama on AIG: I Vote "Present"

Senator Obama, pressed to take a position on the proposed AIG bailout by the federal government he hopes in four months to lead, answered that he couldn't.

Add another Present to the hundreds of such votes already on his record, a regular profile in courage, don't you know.

Stands to reason, actually. He certainly doesn't know and has no guiding principles that fit. The advisers that he would rely on for guidance, Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson, caused the debacle at Freddie and Fannie that is reverberating through the economy.

It's a novel way to campaign.

Gee, I can't wait to see Raines, Gorelick and Johnson back at the levers of power in D.C.
