The Two Faces of Harry Reid

No one has ever accused the Senate Majority Leader Dirty Harry of an excess of integrity, for good reason. But integrity extends beyond land deals that turn sand into gold and allow a public servant to live at the exclusive Ritz-Carlton in DC.

It was just four months ago that Harry Reid said

"We're not going to do anything to limit funding or cut off funds."

Yesterday, he joined with leftist Senator Feingold to do just that.

Their magic date, win, lose or draw is March 31, 2008.

I suppose any American blood spent in the meantime is just the cost of… what?

What is it, Sen. Reid, that your one year delay buys? Given your strong beliefs, shouldn't you insist on an immediate surrender, er, redeployment? Given that victory is not your goal, what is? Why on earth continue one minute longer?

The answer: politics.

Minor question that millions of Americans wonder but are too polite to ask: If you live at the Ritz-Carlson, where do you go on vacation?
